Dry mouth, or xerostomia, is an abnormal dryness of the mucous membranes in the mouth, due to a reduction of the flow or change in the composition of saliva. It's consequences towards oral health are serious and must be managed. Just as our skin needs nutrients, a constant supply of saliva, which is rich in minerals and enzymes, is essential to balance acids and keep our mouth and teeth healthy.
